ULTIMATE Bogner Uberkab 4x12 Impulse Responses (2021)
I have done extensive guitar cabinet tone quests and recordings, and this rear-loaded Bogner Uberkab 4x12 has been my number 1 cab for years! We can share its tonal goodness with this set of impulse responses (IRs). Instead of burdening you with hundreds or thousands of unusable mic placements and combinations, you’re getting my 6 of my best IRs for instant results.

More on the Cabinet:
If you know your Uberkabs, you are probably wondering, “where’s the Celestion G12T-75?” While the G12T-75 blends wonderfully in a live setting, I’ve found it difficult to get an inspiring tone from close micing one in the studio.
File Format:
All IRs are 96 kHz resolution WAV files. If your rig needs a lower resolution file or a longer decay tail (e.g. 500ms), you can easily load these into your DAW and export to your required file format. If you're not sure if you can make this format work for your needs, test out the free IR above before purchasing a whole pack. There are no returns on these impulse responses.
User Guide:
- Rhythm 1 & 2 were made with my favorite SM57 on the sweet spot of the best sounding UK Celestion Vintage 30 in the cab. These are my favorite for heavy rhythm guitar double tracking. These were recorded with two different AMS Neve 1073LBs with slightly different qualities for an awesome stereo pair.
- CleanCrunch 1 & 2 were recorded with a SM57 on the sweet spot of the Celestion M65 Creamback. The Creamback sounds awesome for classic rock and clean sounds. These were also recorded with two different AMS Neve 1073LBs for a killer stereo pair.
- Lead is a combination of a SM57 on the Vintage 30 and a SM7B on the Creamback. The Neve preamps had a little extra saturation for a harmonically rich, complex midrange that works great for leads.
- BONUS IR: Bass was recorded with a Shure Beta 52A on an Ampeg 8X10 cabinet.
